Building Confidence to Show Up and Sell in Your Business

Confidence can feel like something you need before you put yourself out there. Before you post the content, talk about your offer, make the sales pitch, or let more of your personality show in your business.

But what if confidence comes after you start doing those things?

In this conversation, I’m joined by Expression Alchemist & Sales Strategist Bea Lopez to explore confidence, visibility, self-expression, and selling. Bea shares how her experience in corporate sales eventually led her to explore a more embodied approach to business, including feminine energy and sensuality.

For coaches and service providers building an online business, her experience is a useful reminder: confidence doesn’t always come from thinking harder about what to do next. Sometimes it comes from doing it.

Confidence in Your Online Business Grows Through Action

It’s easy to believe you need to feel confident before becoming more visible.

You might wait until you know exactly what to say. Until your offer feels perfect. Until you’re certain people will respond well.

But confidence often works the other way around.

Bea talks about confidence as something we build by taking action and being willing to experience the discomfort that comes with being seen.

That matters in an online business because so much of growth asks us to put ourselves out there. Sharing an opinion, talking about our services, starting conversations, and making offers can all feel uncomfortable at first.

Taking action gives you evidence that you can handle that discomfort. Over time, that evidence can become confidence.

Self-Expression Can Build Confidence in Your Coaching Business

Sales isn’t only about having the right strategy or following the right process.

Bea’s journey took her from 15 years in corporate sales into exploring the relationship between sales, self-expression, feminine energy, embodiment, and sensuality.

For coaches, this opens up an interesting question: how much of yourself are you allowing people to see in your coaching business?

This doesn’t mean sharing every part of your personal life. It can simply mean giving yourself more freedom to communicate in a way that feels like you.

When you’re constantly second-guessing your words or trying to present the “right” version of yourself, showing up can become exhausting.

More self-expression can create space for greater conviction. Instead of performing confidence, you’re practicing being seen as yourself.

How to Grow Your Business by Practicing Visibility

If you want to know how to grow your business with more confidence, the answer may not be another round of thinking.

It might be practice.

A few reflections to take into your own business:

  • Take one visible action. Share the post, talk about your offer, or start the conversation before you feel completely ready.

  • Notice what happens in your body. Rather than immediately trying to think your way out of discomfort, get curious about what you’re feeling when you sell or become more visible.

  • Experiment with self-expression. Explore what changes when you give yourself permission to bring more of your personality, perspective, or energy into your content.

  • Let confidence follow experience. Each time you take action, you’re building evidence that you can show up, be seen, and talk about your work.

None of this requires suddenly becoming fearless.

It’s about creating opportunities to practice the kind of visibility and self-expression your business needs.

Sales Confidence Helps Coaches and Service Providers Connect

For coaches and service providers, visibility isn’t just about getting attention.

It helps the right people understand who you are, what you believe, and how you can help them.

When you can confidently express your ideas and talk about your services, it becomes easier for potential clients to connect with your work. Your personal brand becomes less about creating an image and more about communicating clearly and authentically.

That confidence can also change how selling feels.

Rather than waiting until you have eliminated every doubt, you can build conviction through action. You show up, learn what feels right, adjust, and do it again.

That’s how confidence becomes something you’ve experienced rather than something you’re waiting to feel.

Building an Online Business Means Being Willing to Be Seen

There are plenty of strategies for growing an online business, but eventually many of them require the same thing: visibility.

You have to let people know you exist. You have to communicate what you offer. And you have to give potential clients a chance to see the person behind the business.

Bea’s perspective offers coaches and service providers another way to think about that process.

Confidence doesn’t have to be the starting point.

Action can be.

Sometimes the brave move is showing up while you’re still uncomfortable, trusting that confidence and conviction can grow because you did.
