Episode 94 : My Most Successful Launch Yet, and Why I’m Okay That It Made $0

How My $0 Coaching Launch Created Real Business Growth

In this episode of the Business Bravery Podcast, Tiffany Gilleland shares the story of her most successful “non-revenue” launch and what it taught her about building community and real connection in business.

When Business Success Isn’t Measured in Dollars

In the world of online business, most launches are judged by one number: revenue. But what happens when your launch earns $0 and still transforms your business? That’s exactly what happened to me.

In this episode, I share how my most successful launch yet didn’t make a single dollar, and why I’m more proud of it than any income-generating campaign I’ve ever done.

The purpose of this launch wasn’t to sell a product or a program. It was to build a community, a space where genuine relationships could grow. I wanted to move beyond the surface-level networking that often leaves people feeling unseen and disconnected.

Introducing Brave Coffee Connections

That’s how Brave Coffee Connections was born, a free, monthly Zoom gathering designed to help coaches and service-based business owners form real connections.

Instead of awkward intros or elevator pitches, we start with a meaningful question that sparks deep reflection. Then, through small-group discussions, everyone gets a chance to share insights, stories, and ideas that inspire action and confidence.

Each month has a different theme, from bravery, to money, to visibility, all designed to help participants connect with like-minded people and feel genuinely supported.

For me, this wasn’t just a launch. It was the start of a movement built on authenticity, community, and courage.

Why This $0 Launch Created Real Business Growth

Although Brave Coffee Connections didn’t bring in revenue right away, it generated something even more powerful: trust.

Participants started reaching out for collaborations, referrals, and deeper conversations about working together. The experience reminded me that people might not always invest money first, but when they invest their time and attention, that’s the beginning of a real relationship.

That kind of connection is the foundation of long-term growth. It leads to clients who truly align with your values and work, not just those chasing a quick fix.

Business Lessons from Four “Failed” Launch Attempts

This wasn’t my first attempt at building a community. In fact, it was my fifth.

Before Brave Coffee Connections, I tried creating introvert-friendly groups, marketing collectives, and visibility challenges that all fizzled out. At the time, I felt like those projects had failed. But now, I see them as necessary experiments. Each one taught me what didn’t work, helped me refine my message, and gave me the clarity I needed to create something sustainable.

Failure isn’t the opposite of success, it’s often the path to it.

Building Community Is a Brave Business Move

In a coaching industry obsessed with metrics and quick wins, choosing to focus on community might seem like the slow route. But real growth, the kind that lasts, is built on trust, consistency, and human connection.

If you’re feeling uncertain about your own launches or community-building efforts, remember that every “failed” attempt is preparing you for the version that finally clicks.

Final Thoughts

The biggest lesson from this $0 launch is that business success isn’t always about the money you make, it’s about the relationships you build along the way. When you focus on creating genuine connection and community, growth follows naturally. For coaches and service providers, remember that your next big breakthrough might come from leading with authenticity, not strategy alone. Keep showing up bravely — your people are waiting to connect with you.
